New Years Eve Celebrity Makeup Look

I had the pleasure of doing Makeup on new years eve for Actress/ Spokeswoman Gabrielle Union and her boyfriend, Miami Heat basket ball player superstar,Dwayne Wade for their New Years Eve Grand Gala in South Beach. Many have asked how did I achieve her look. Here it is:
Step 1. Prep the skin. Start with a clean fresh moisturized face. If you have oily skin use an oil free moisturizer. I used M.A.C. Oil Control Lotion all over her face and neck. Step 2. Prime the skin. Primer is not the same as a moisturizer. A primer makes your face smoother and ready for the foundation, helps smooths out the appearance of texture and helps with the wear ability of your foundation and face makeup. Step 3. Complexion apply concealer over any imperfections and under eye dark circles. I used Studio finish Concealer one skin shade lighter. Using a 190 MAC foundation brush, I applied studio fix fluid foundation all over her face and neck. Finish off by dusting Mineralized Satin Finished Foundation Loose powder with a 150 large powder brush to set. Eyes Using MAC Paint Pot in Painterly as a shadow base, apply over the entire lid for wearability. I then lined the waterline, upper lash line and bottom lash line with Smolder eye Kohl pencil generously, then smudged and set it by applying Black tide over that. I then used "Bronze" in the inner crease and "Embark" on the outer Crease. I used "Brule" under the brows to the crease and blended with a 286 blending brush. Using Duo Lash glue adhesive, I applied the glue to the strip of MAC false lash number 34 waited a couple minutes for glue to get tacky before applying to lash line. Finish up by using fluid line in Blacktrack. Lips Prep the lips with MAC Prep + Prime lips for lip color longevity, and to help prevent feathering(This is one of my favorite MAC products). Then line lips with Half red Liner, & apply Viva Glam V lipstick to lips all of thes are by MAC... I love MAC what can I say. Cheeks I use Ambering Rose Powder Blush on the apples of her cheeks using a 116 MAC brush :) I hope everyone has a marvelous and prosperous New Year!!!! Enjoy and be safe. Love & lipstick ~Cindi~

My Skinny Body Secret Revealed!

I only endorse products that I believe in, use myself & have proven that it works before I recommend it to any one!!! I spent the majority of my adolescents and early adulthood being skinny so when I started to put on a few pound in my 30's and then a few became 40lbs.. I had to do something! I tried dieting, exercising and all different types of weight loss pills with no results. When a friend suggested I tried Skinny Body Care I was very skeptical to say the least. Having spent so much time, money and effort on all these other products with no improvement.
Within the first week of use I noticed the difference. I took two capsules before breakfast and dinner, I found that I began eating less, I was regular and my energy level was sky high. With proper diet & excersize I am ecstatic to say that after my first bottle 30 days later I have lost 20lbs!!! This stuff really works!!

Marvelous Lip Tips

For cracked dry lips:

1.) Keep lips soft and subtle by exfoliating them gently with a tooth brush in circular movements at least every other day. You can also use a gentle exfoliator like the one you use on your face on your lips at least once a week.

2.) Moisturize your lips with lip balm before bed & also before every lip colour application.

3.) Licking your lips does NOT moisturize them! It is only relieved temporarily but can cause your lips to dry out more. This is because saliva evaporates quickly and takes away the moisture from your lips leaving them way more chapped than before you even licked them. Saliva is also acidic as it helps in breaking down food in your stomach, which is why it can also irritate your lips.

4.) Drink plenty of water!

Make your lipstick last longer
The trick here is lipliner. Take the matching lipliner or color of your choice and apply it as you would a lipstick, then add some lip balm to moisten it. That’s it! Lip liners last longer than lipsticks. This trick is especially good with dark colors. If you want you can dab a little bit of lipstick on your lips afterwards.

Blot the extra colour with a tissue, reapply the lipstick and then dust the lips with powder. Since foundation and powder make beautiful lips drier, use lipstick with a creamy formula to counter the effect.

Tap eyeshadow or blush into your lipstick or gloss. Not only will this give you your own custom color, but the addition of powder will add longevity to the wear of the color.

Make-up Free Teeth
To keep lipstick and glosses on your lips and off your teeth, place your finger in your mouth (after applying the color, of course), close your lips and pull your finger out. The problematic gloss will come off on your finger, problem solved. You can also apply a little Vaseline on your teeth, this will prevent lip colour from sticking to your teeth.

Dark pigment lips:
You can wear almost any color lipstick you want even if you have dark lips. The trick is that to keep the "true" color of the lipstick intact you just need to prime your lips with some foundation before you put the lipstick on. Use the same foundation that matches your skin. just put a little bit of it on your lips with a sponge or your fingers to make the color evenly matched with your skin.

Tips for Sharpening Lip Pencil:
Chill it in the refrigerator for a few minutes first.

My new favorite thing!!!
D'finer D'liner Clear Lip Liner By Benefit Cosmetics
This is an invisible, anti-feathering lip liner that helps lipstick & gloss stay put on lips. The smooth and creamy pencil melts into fine lines and redefines the lip line, creating a more defined and smoother looking pucker. Line clean lips with D'finer D'liner Clear Lip Liner to define lip shape and prevent the feathering of lip color. For an everyday look I wear lip gloss a lot but it never stays, I found that lining my lips with this liner, helps the gloss from spreading and stays on even longer. LOVVVVE ITT!

The Perfect Eyebrows

Eyebrows are the most important feature that defines the face. They frame the face and are part of communication and facial expression. Eyebrows also prevent dirt and debris from falling into your eyes.
A lot of people and many of my clients really have no clue about shaping their brows! I have seen many profile photos online with less than desirable looking brows. I wonder if these people have no one that will tell them the truth of how awful their brows look! It's ok. I'm here to help.
Ladies if you have blond hair, please do not use a jet black liner and literally draw on a fine line as you eyebrow this goes for everyone -

( truly hope this was a mugshot!.. She deserves to get arrested for this nonsense!!).

not cute!!!

Also, those two inch thick ones that covers half your forehead..

Really not cute!!!

Uni-brows and those brows you can almost cornrow (this goes for men too. There is nothing wrong with a little "manscaping")..seriously not cute!
(I did not do the makeup in this photo of 8 time Grammy award winning singer and actress who shall remain nameless, but I did work w/ her & her eyebrows several times.)

So here are the basics:
Using a eyebrow pencil or brush, place it by the side of your nose to your eyebrows. This is where it should start. Tilt the brush or whatever your using to from the same point of your nose to the corner of your eye, this is where it should end. The highest point of the arch should be the outer edge of the pupil. The eyebrow should arch where that line intersects with the brow.

Invest in good tools ie: Tweezers and brushes. They make a big difference!

Filling in the spaces are important, you can use a pencil using small brush stokes or powder with an angle brush.

As far as the color goes, there should only be a two shade difference. If your brunette,up to two shades lighter and Blondes should be 1-2 shades darker

For those unruly brows I suggest using hair spray or gel on a brow comb, a wax pencil, clear mascara or eyebrow mascara to help keep things in place.

Well-shaped eyebrows really do more to enhance your appearance than any other facial feature. The right brow shape can make your face appear slimmer; eyes appear larger and more youthful.
Hope this helps.

Seeing The Bride Before The Wedding

Tradition states that it’s bad luck for the bride and groom to see each other before the wedding, but many modern couples actually use the time before the wedding to snap some photos together before their guests even arrive. The “first look” is such a special moment and it’s really fun when it’s before the wedding. It’s more common than one would think, brides and grooms are breaking tradition and seeing each other before the actual wedding ceremony in order to get their wedding photos out of the way. This is particularly a good idea if the couple are under time constraints with their wedding photographer or the wedding venue itself. Now, we understand that some brides may frown upon this practice, but think about it. If you don’t want to be rushed for your wedding photos and are short on time after the ceremony, then seeing each other before the ceremony may not be a bad idea.

Some brides may argue that being seen for the first time as they walk down the aisle by their future husband is more important than the photos themselves. My response, you can get the same reaction by your man even before you walk down the aisle. Have your photographer either blindfold the groom or have him facing away from you. As you walk toward him, he will slowly turn around and the photographer can capture those first moments of his expression. You can even add some romantic music to the entire process, making it more romantic and special; perhaps a special song that you would not have added to your wedding processional. Each couple has to decide what’s right for them and just plan their timing accordingly.

Below is a video of Jennifer & Phillip, they were the winner of my makeup makeover contest in July. It could not have been won by better souls!!!! I wish them all the best.
This video was the first look at the bride by the groom!
